NUK Soother – for healthy development. Together with experts such as paediatricians, midwives, ortho- dontists and nutrition experts, NUK develops products which help children in each phase of their life and make the everyday life of parents easier. The first NUK Teat was also the first teat suited to the jaw – it was devised by two dental specialists, who discovered better jaw and teeth development in children who were breastfed rather than bottle-fed. Why do NUK Soothers have this special shape? All NUK Soothers have an asymmetrical shape that resembles a mother’s nipple while breastfeeding. There is plenty of room underneath for the tongue for natural sucking movements, while the domed shape of the top fits the mouth perfectly. The neck of the teat is narrow, letting the lips close around it. The NUK Air System ensures that air can escape from the baglet at any time and so it always remains nicely flat.
